The application process will be open from July 5, 2023, to August 4, 2023 (for OCIF Communities).
Final call for all municipalities to apply is September 6, 2023.
Good Roads will review the applications and inform applicants of the results on September 8, 2023.
Municipalities will be required to provide all requested participant details by Sept 11, 2023.
This program is being subsidized by Ontario’s Ministry of Labour, Immigration, Training and Skills Development using the Skills Development Fund (SDF). SDF offers funding to organizations for innovative projects that address challenges to hiring, training or retaining workers, including apprentices, to drive Ontario’s economic growth.
Applicants must meet 2 conditions to be eligible for this program:
TJ Mahony Construction covers everything from MMS to drainage, legislation, road surface maintenance signals, winter maintenance to legal issues.
TJ Mahony Maintenance has an overview of how roadside maintenance, road surface care, legal equipment and housing, road signs and signals.
Bridge and Culvert covers maintenance to load limit positioning to steel bridges and metal culvert maintenance.
Effective Management reviews communications styles, emotional intelligence, managing risk, and building a positive work environment.
Fleet Management program gives overview of best practices related to municipal fleet management, procurement, equipment maintenance programs, and regulatory compliance.
Signs and Lines offers practical experience in using Ontario Traffic Manuals 5, 6 and 11 to help minimize risk and defend the municipality in an insurance claim.
You can request as many course registrations as you would like. There is no limit. However, after receiving all applications, Good Roads will evenly distribute the available seats among the communities that made requests. You may not get all registrations that you request.
We will attempt to put all participants in the same hotel as the course. Some participants may be required to stay at an alternate nearby hotel.

This program only covers the cost of 3 nights of hotel accommodation. Check in will be the night before the course and check out will be the morning of the last day of the course. Good Roads can help you arrange additional nights at our discounted rate. Good Roads will not pay for additional nights.
There will be no meals provided during the event. There will be coffee and water available during the morning and afternoon breaks.
Demographic information is required under the rules of the Skills Development Fund grant. Good Roads is required to provide the Ministry of Labour, Immigration, Training and Skills Development detailed information about all participants in this program so they can monitor its impact.
If are accepted into TJ Mahony Construction and a course during the following week, we can help you organize the appropriate hotel stay. This program will cover the hotel costs Tues Oct 24 – Friday Oct 27 and Sunday Oct 29 – Nov 1. Your municipality / First Nation will be required to pay for Friday and Saturday nights at check out.
