Accessibility
Good Roads is committed to providing accessible information, services, programs, and digital experiences for our members, partners, event participants, learners, volunteers, staff, and the public.
As an organization that supports Ontario’s municipal infrastructure sector, we know accessibility is part of good service. We are working to make our website, communications, events, training, and public-facing materials easier to access, understand, and use.
Our Commitment
Good Roads is committed to meeting its obligations under the Accessibility for Ontarians with Disabilities Act, 2005, and to providing services in a way that respects the dignity, independence, integration, and equal opportunity of people with disabilities.
This commitment applies to the way we provide information, communicate with members and the public, deliver education and events, and support participation in Good Roads programs and services.
Website Accessibility
Good Roads is working to make its website accessible and user-friendly for all visitors.
Our goal is to maintain a website that follows recognized accessibility standards. This includes ongoing work to improve:
- alternative text for images;
- clear and descriptive link text;
- readable font sizes and spacing;
- keyboard navigation;
- colour contrast;
- accessible forms;
- screen-reader compatibility;
- mobile usability;
- accessible tables, documents, and downloadable resources.
Accessibility is an ongoing process. As our website grows and changes, Good Roads will continue reviewing content, templates, documents, and digital tools to improve accessibility and usability.
Alternate Formats and Communication Supports
Good Roads will make reasonable efforts to provide information in accessible formats or with communication supports upon request.
This may include providing documents in an alternate format, supporting accessible event participation, or working with individuals to identify a format or support that meets their needs.
Requests will be handled in a timely manner, based on the nature of the request and the format required.
Known Accessibility Barriers
Good Roads is reviewing its website and digital materials to identify and address accessibility barriers.
Some older documents, PDFs, archived materials, third-party tools, forms, or linked resources may not yet be fully accessible. Where barriers are identified, Good Roads will work to correct them or provide the information in another accessible format upon request.
In some cases, certain third-party platforms, embedded tools, maps, external documents, or linked websites may be outside of Good Roads’ direct control. We will make reasonable efforts to support accessibility and provide alternatives where possible.
Events, Education, and Member Services
Good Roads is committed to making its events, training, meetings, and member services accessible.
Participants who require accommodation are encouraged to contact Good Roads in advance so appropriate arrangements can be made. This may include accessibility-related supports for events, courses, meetings, or digital participation.

Good Roads welcomes feedback on the accessibility of our website, services, events, training, and communications.
