Derek’s pavement preservation career began when he was 12 years old, helping his grandfather maintain the roads in a trailer park he owned in Tillsonburg. He graduated from McMaster University, Civil Engineering and Management. His official working career began in the asphalt lab and managing the micro-surfacing operations.  Derek joined Walker Industries in 2007 and is currently Manager Products and Innovation where he continues to advocate, advise and educate on the benefits of pavement preservation.
