Lori Schaus

Lori is experienced in pavement investigations (condition assessments, falling weight deflectometer testing, MIT-Scanning, ground penetrating radar, friction and geotechnical investigations), pavement designs and life-cycle cost assessments for various roadways and highways. Her many years of experience in this field has allowed her to perfect design of new roadway alignments including concrete, flexible, composite, and permeable pavement designs, as well as the rehabilitation of existing roadways both in rural and urban settings.

Liz Sisolak, RN, COHNC, CRSP,CHSC

Liz brings her passion for both Health AND Safety to her consulting and training endeavors. She began her career as an acute care nurse and later specialized in Occupational Health Nursing. Her academic pursuit then led her toward studies in workplace safety. With prevention in mind, she has also focused on physical and psychological wellness in the workplace. Liz has worked in the private and public sectors in settings such as Aviation, Insurance, Health Care and Municipal Government.

Les Shepherd P.Eng.

Les is head of maintenance east for MTO and has 33 years of wide ranging experience in engineering, maintenance and construction administration working for the Ontario Public Service and two Ontario Counties. His resume covers a wide range of the province, including MTO Central and Northeast Regions, County of Haliburton Director of Public Works, United Counties of Leeds and Grenville Director of Public Works, plus MTO East Region.

Leona Wilson, CHRL CEBS CMS

Leona is the President of Armillary Business Group, a human resources consultancy that focuses on employee productivity, strategy development and legal compliance.

She has more than 30 years of human resources experience providing guidance and leadership to start-ups and growing organizations. Her broad experience includes profit and non-profit organizations in a variety of industries. She has been volunteering with Good Roads since 2012.

Ken Lauppé, C.E.T., CRS-S

Ken has more than 43 years of municipal public works experience, mostly in road operations with several municipalities in Ontario. He has a diploma in Civil Engineering Technology from Ryerson, and certificates in Management Studies and Adult Education from Sheridan College. He’s also a Certified Engineering Technologist with OACETT and Certified Road Supervisor, Senior with AORS, plus a Past President of Good Roads and AORS. Ken is also a course Co-Director for Roadway Management, instructor at Snow School and member of MMS Review Committee.

Justin Fradella

Justin is the Operations Superintendent for Von Industries, a paving and construction company based out of Moncton, New Brunswick. Justin has a background in surveying, asphalt and concrete material testing, and structures inspections, most notably as a provincial Bridge inspector for the Department of Transportation and Infrastructure (NB DTI). While working for NB DTI Justin preformed approximately 350-400 inspections annually for the province, including several international and inter-provincial bridges. He has been involved in various rehabilitations and replacement projects throughout the province, ranging from small culvert replacements to large bridge rehabs, including lift-span bridges and several of covered bridges found throughout the province.

Justin Baxter

Justin has worked in the asphalt and paving industry for over 20 years. He started his career with Miller Paving in the GTA QC Laboratory and helped to build its now extensive quality network. He managed the GTA Asphalt Plants for Miller Paving Ltd for over 10 years and moved into Operations side of the business and managed several MTO contracts on the 400 series Highways. Justin is very active in the asphalt community, he’s a member of the OAPC Environmental Committee, OAPC Hot Mix Technical Committee, Municipal Liaison Committee, and Ontario Expert Panel on Asphalt Task Group.

John Romano

John has decades of experience working in the public works sector as a supervisor, and in the fleet department. His expertise is training and he trains professionals in a wide variety of areas, such as traffic safety, professional drawer training, and heavy equipment.

John Rivers

John is an industry expert in road signs. He is knowledgeable in the process of producing road signs including silk screening, lamination, and digital printing. John is well versed in the Ontario Traffic Manual series and has been manufacturing road signs for the past 18 years. He’s an active Good Roads member.

Joel Wilkie

Joel is the General Manager and President of Superior Road Products, which specializes in pavement preservation, serving Ontario and the Maritimes. For the last 7 years he has managed asphalt preservation services at Superior Road Products. His operations team goal and focus is to preserve roads for 25-30 municipalities each construction season. They use “top of the curve” asphalt preservation techniques to extend road life and reduce lifecycle costs.
