Good Roads has released its 2026 Ontario Paving Report, providing current data and insights into municipal asphalt paving practices across the province.

The report examines paving trends, quantities, material use and the management of reclaimed asphalt pavement (RAP). By documenting current practices and regional differences, it supports a better understanding of how paving materials—including recycled materials—are being used in Ontario and helps identify opportunities for improved consistency, planning and resource management.

The initiative began in 2019 with an effort to estimate RAP quantities using satellite imagery. It has since evolved into a collaborative study involving Good Roads, the Ontario Asphalt Pavement Council (OAPC), a council of the Ontario Road Builders’ Association (ORBA), and the Municipal Engineers Association (MEA).

The 2026 report reflects the continued commitment of stakeholders across Ontario’s road and infrastructure sector to collecting reliable, up-to-date information and sharing knowledge that can inform municipal paving practices and specifications.
