Matt has worked for the Region of Waterloo since 2006 in various roles in the Transportation Operations department. He has been involved in planning, developing, and implementing in house operational programs related to winter and routine activities. In addition, he also administers various maintenance contracts for the transportation division. Matt has been involved with Good Roads Snow School and winter programs for many years.

Mark is a partner and principal pavement engineer at Thurber Engineering Ltd. He has more than twenty years of experience in providing pavement engineering services throughout Canada. Mark has worked on a variety of pavement related projects ranging from high-volume freeways to lower volume municipal roads, intermodal facilities and airports, on a variety of soil conditions. He holds a B. A. Sc., Civil Engineering, University of Waterloo and M. Eng., Civil Engineering, University of Florida.

Mark is a veteran Manager of the Canada Border Services Agency with 35 years of service. With more than 20 years of diverse management experience in operations coordination and law enforcement, he led the Senior Management Team in their programs. Mark holds a Diploma in Law Enforcement from Sir Sandford Fleming College. He was awarded Queen Elizabeth II Diamond Jubilee Medal in 2012 and the Peace Officer Service Medal and Exemplary Service Medal respectfully in 2006 and 2009.

Lori is experienced in pavement investigations (condition assessments, falling weight deflectometer testing, MIT-Scanning, ground penetrating radar, friction and geotechnical investigations), pavement designs and life-cycle cost assessments for various roadways and highways. Her many years of experience in this field has allowed her to perfect design of new roadway alignments including concrete, flexible, composite, and permeable pavement designs, as well as the rehabilitation of existing roadways both in rural and urban settings.

Liz brings her passion for both Health AND Safety to her consulting and training endeavors. She began her career as an acute care nurse and later specialized in Occupational Health Nursing. Her academic pursuit then led her toward studies in workplace safety. With prevention in mind, she has also focused on physical and psychological wellness in the workplace. Liz has worked in the private and public sectors in settings such as Aviation, Insurance, Health Care and Municipal Government.

Les is head of maintenance east for MTO and has 33 years of wide ranging experience in engineering, maintenance and construction administration working for the Ontario Public Service and two Ontario Counties. His resume covers a wide range of the province, including MTO Central and Northeast Regions, County of Haliburton Director of Public Works, United Counties of Leeds and Grenville Director of Public Works, plus MTO East Region.

Leona is the President of Armillary Business Group, a human resources consultancy that focuses on employee productivity, strategy development and legal compliance.

She has more than 30 years of human resources experience providing guidance and leadership to start-ups and growing organizations. Her broad experience includes profit and non-profit organizations in a variety of industries. She has been volunteering with Good Roads since 2012.

Manager, Works Operations, C.E.T. (Certified Engineering Technologist), CRS-S (Certified Road Supervisor – Senior), City of Mississauga, Transportation and Works Department – Ken has more than 43 years of municipal public works experience, mostly in road operations with several municipalities in Ontario. He has a diploma in Civil Engineering Technology from Ryerson, and certificates in Management Studies and Adult Education from Sheridan College. He’s also a Certified Engineering Technologist with OACETT and Certified Road Supervisor, Senior with AORS, plus a Past President of Good Roads and AORS. Ken is also a course Co-Director for Roadway Management, instructor at Snow School and member of MMS Review Committee.
